Concrete Reinforcing and Jacketing

Reinforced concrete (RC) jacketing is most frequently used to strengthen columns. The common practice to prepare the interface is empirically based and consists of increasing the surface roughness, applying a bonding agent and eventually steel connectors. Following the dowel and rebar installation in the column, concrete or grouting materials are injected using specialized machinery and apply steady vibration to ensure an adequate filling and a reliable result.
